Bubba’s PAMPERED Pedalers is offering a Katy Trail – Limited Ragtime Edition 2027 Tour. This follows our historical route heading west from St Charles and ending in Clinton, Sunday on Day 6. Sedalia’s annual Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival will highlight the tour, where will dedicate an off day on Day 5 to three stage offerings of Ragtime music throughout the day, the package also includes an evening ticketed concert.
The tour is broken into five full riding days and has been designed for optimal mileage. Daily start and end points allow for upgraded accommodations while continuing the tradition of overnights in charming towns with carefully curated meals highlighting local flavors.
The tour ends midday on Day 6 in Clinton, Sunday, proceeded by a shuttle of you and your bike back to St. Charles (or you may leave your car in Sedalia for a pre-ride shuttle). The package price also includes the first night (Day 0) accommodation in the tour price.
We anticipate this one-off Katy Trail Limited Ragtime Edition Tour to fill quickly, the first five signups will be given priority for downtown rooms in Sedalia for the last two nights of the tour, other riders will be accommodated at a hotel nearby and outside of the central business district. We strongly suggest you register well in advance in order to secure your slot. Ride pricing include a ticket for the main evening concert at the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival.
Day 0 - Check-In - St Charles
- Day 0 is Monday, May 31. Check-in will take place at the Hampton Inn – St Charles–St. Louis, MO, between 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM. You'll stay overnight in St. Charles, and free long-term parking is available in either St. Charles or Sedalia.
Alternatively, if you like to end the riding week and have access to your car earlier, we will offer a shuttle (bike, bags and rider) from Sedalia to St Charles from 11:00 am on Day 0.
Day 1 - St Charles to Treloar
- Starting day 1, our journey departs early from St. Charles. Cycling 45 miles west to Treloar, we’ll pass Defiance, famed for Daniel Boone’s wise judgments beneath the Judgment Tree. In Treloar, a shuttle awaits to transport riders to our dinner and overnight accomodation in Washington.
Day 2 - Treloar to Tebbets
- The Day 2 leg is a brisk 47-mile pedal to Tebbets. From there we shuttle to our overnite stay in Jefferson City, the charming capitol of Missouri.
Day 3 - Tebbets to Rocheport or Columbia
- Wednesday the tour will spin another 47 miles from Tebbets to Rocheport, or you may opt to ride into the city of Columbia via the M-K-T Fitness Trail. In order to properly accommodate the Ragtime Special Edition tour we will shuttle 15 min from Rocheport to the home of the Mizzou Tigers \ Columbia, MO for the night. Who knows, we may just take a campus tour.
Day 4 - Rocheport to Sedalia
- On Day 4 the group pedals 50 miles through Boonville and ends in Sedalia. In Boonville we will invite you for a second breakfast at a trail side coffee haunt. In Sedalia we’ll dine together on the eve of our off day taking in the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival.
Day 5 - Off Day
- The Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival has been in existence since 1974. The festival comprises three full days of music, which kicks off each morning and continues throughout the day. Performances are spread across three stages, all within easy walking distance. All daytime gigs are non-ticketed and free. Take your pick of whom to see, you cannot go wrong as all of the musicians are top shelf dedicated artists. We’ll have our final meal together and proceed to the main evening concert on Saturday. Hotel shuttles will be available throughout the day.
Day 6 - Sedalia to Clinton
- The final stretch, Friday, rolls 35 miles to Clinton to the conclusion of the ride. We encourage riders to end the ride by noon. Once you finish the ride, we will provide an option to freshen up and change clothes & shoes, as well as a light lunch. Riders will then be shuttled back to St Charles and typically we arrive around 4pm.The Day 6 hotel is not included in the tour package, allowing you to escape St Louis traffic on Sunday evening.
St Louis International Airport (STL) is the closest airport.
Free long-term parking is available in St Charles. You can also opt to drop your vehicle in at no charge in Sedalia on Day 0 and be shuttled east to St Charles.
The tour will be riding on crushed stone. For comfort it’s recommended that tires should be puncture resistant and a minimum of 32mm in width.
Riders must make their own arrangements for bike rental. Reference Bubba’s Pampered Pedalers if you book from the preferred local outfitter. This shop is a walk from the host hotel.

Bubba’s PAMPERED Pedalers also offers a limited number of bicycles available for rent. Our inventory primarily consists of hybrid bikes, with a small selection of gravel bikes, sorry but no EBikes at this time. If we have enough advance notice, we can typically find a bike that fits your needs. Our goal is to offer customers well-maintained bikes that are not new, but are priced affordably. If you’d like to rent a bike from us, please reach out to discuss our inventory and determine if we have a suitable option for you. Keep in mind that if you decide the bike doesn’t work for you when you arrive for the ride, you won’t be able to switch it out.
The Katy Trail is comprised of very well-maintained crushed limestone and is devoid of vehicle traffic.

From St Louis Lambert Airport to St. Charles is a short drive of about 15 minutes.
BPP provides complimentary airport shuttle services. It is necessary to reserve your shuttle prior to the tour. To facilitate seamless logistical arrangements, we advise all participants to arrive no later than 11.30 AM on Day 0.
For departure, flights scheduled for Day 6 evening (after 6:30 PM) or the next morning are recommended.
We extend a warm welcome to all participants. Non-riders are required to complete the same registration forms and pay the corresponding fees as riders. Non-riding participants may engage in all aspects of the tour, apart from the riding portion, should they choose.
No problem. If you feel you cannot finish the day’s ride, our staff will assist you and your bike to get you to the ending location.
We love the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival it’s a hidden gem which showcases a form of music from seemingly time forgotten. The artists who perform at the festival possess deep knowledge of the music in itself as well as its rich history, all around the legend of Scott Joplin. Bubba’s PAMPERED Pedalers offers a limited number of rental bikes, primarily hybrids with a few gravel bikes; e-bikes are not available at this time. Please click the inventory link to view current options and contact us in advance so we can help determine whether a suitable bike is available. Our rental bikes are well-maintained and affordably priced, though they may not be new. Please note that bikes typically cannot be exchanged after you arrive for the ride.
